Cherry Blossoms

Tiffany and I have been watching the cherry tracker on the Brooklyn Botanical Garden site for weeks, waiting for them to bloom. This weekend was it! Saturday was rainy, but Sunday was beautiful. The plan was to hop on the new bike and ride down there as soon as the girls were done with their ballet pictures. Well, "off like a herd of turtles" is more like it. Pictures were adorable and fun, but took a lot longer than expected. Then lunch, then getting the bikes. I got the girls all set up in the back of the bike and instantly realized I needed a whole lot of practice before hitting the road!!! Riding a bike as a 100 lb person with 80 lb cargo is a lot different than riding alone. But with everyone's help, I figured it out! And we all went on bike to the garden. First Rob, then Tiffany, then us, then Andrew in caboose! Oh, and did you know that there are hills in BK?! Yeah, they were hard!

Thank you to Nana and Papa for the BBG membership! This garden is so beautiful and we got to skip the mile long line!

Audrey and her love for colors!

Happy Birthday to Rob!

Giant Lily Pads

Bamboo!

Addison took over 300 pictures.

I believe this is the picture she was taking:

She continued to take pictures on the ride home:

I love this one she took of Andrew!

Spring

Tiffany and Rob introduced the girls to the Primitive Technology YouTube channel recently and Audrey LOVES it. She has begged us to go camping for her birthday, so we booked a two night trip in May to the Malouf's Mountain campsite! The girls want to build shelters, weave baskets, and play with clay! I got some air dry terracotta clay to build with in the meantime.

Audrey, don't worry, we are all confused with what to wear in Spring.

 Mermaid pose.

Spring picnic in CP

Concrete thrones!

We all went climbing!

Peeling onion skins.

Chopping beets.

Drawing on warm hard-boiled eggs.

Ready to make dye!

It worked!

The building playgroup took over the courtyard for an egg hunt!

Easter Day!

Another mermaid pose.

The girls had their eyes examined and Audrey hated the drops, but her vision was good.

Addison loved the eye exam and was the best patient, but ended up with reading glasses!

Their eyes were dilated for two days.

Audrey said when she needs glasses, that she will choose these:

Chocolate bunnies! Oh, and here is Addison in her reading glasses!

Making paper from old newspapers and dried flowers.

Model of the Nile, cha cha cha chia style.

Mummy time!

And pyramid time!

Oh, the life.

Daffodils

I have to thank Nana for these as I splurged and spent a Christmas gift card entirely on cloth napkins (16 of them) in January. The print I wanted was on back order and didn't arrive until this week. I already love it. Happy Earth Day to me!

And here is some great news:

ANDREW GOT ME A FAMILY BIKE!!! Happy Easter, Happy Earth Day, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Birthday, and probably Merry Christmas to me too. I have been dreaming about having a family bike in Brooklyn for a year. Waiting on a few accessories then I'm ready to roll. Should we give it an "A" name or just call it the Mother-shuttle II?! haha

I'll leave you with this sweet bedtime video:
