8 more days!

Only 8 more days until we are homeowners! October 7th is our close date! Andrew met with a contractor on Saturday and will meet with another one on Wednesday so we can get some estimates for a few upgrades. As soon as we close I need to start packing. Not sure where to start and how to do it. I'm just going to do a little each day.

We've had a nice weekend so far.

We made banana bread (or as Addison calls it "banana pie"). I have so many fun memories using this Alphabet cookbook when I was young!

We enjoyed a very nice dinner out together.

We finally went to the killer whale show at the Miami Seaquarium!

Addison keeps picking this dress to wear.

We love weekends!

We had a nice weekend that included pool time, playground time, a trip to the Lego store, grocery shopping (Addi loves getting a free cookie from the bakery), and some nice meals. All weekend we talked about how amazing it will be to be in our house. Our lives will completely change for the good. The only two negatives I can see are: 1) Andrew's office will be 24 miles away instead of 1.5 miles away and 2) our view will be a man made lake instead of Biscayne Bay!
No more noises like the trash chute, sliding doors, or neighbors to wake up sleeping children. No more elevators/stairs with two children and two dogs. No more sleeping on the couch for Andrew and no more sharing a room with the baby for me! I can't wait for the dogs and girls to have a backyard to play in! We are ready! Once we close, I will somehow have to figure out how to pack.

Both girls are currently napping, so I think I'd better join them!

Happy 4 Months Old, Audrey Diane!

Audrey is 4 months old today and I can't even believe it. She loves to grab her toes, scream and coo, blow raspberries, smile and laugh, and sit up in my lap to watch her sister play. She is a very happy girl! She is still a bad sleeper though! Waking up four times at night!

I can't figure out why this picture is posting sideways, sorry.

She is still not a fan of "tummy time", but doesn't mind as much with the boppy.

It also helps when she has her sister to look at!

Friday is her 4 month well visit, but I know for sure she has doubled her birth weight!

We've got a house contract!

It's official, we've got a contract on the house! The appraisal came back just over what we offered! We are so thankful! Now we have to wait on the title and some insurance paperwork. Once we close we'd really like to do the repairs from the inspection, possibly the floors, and the painting before we move in. I really hope to be all moved in by Halloween.

In other news, Andrew has a cold. He's been working long hours the past few weeks and I guess it just caught up to him. Tuesday and Wednesday he worked from home and was able to take a few little naps here and there. On Monday, I got mastitis yet again and on Tuesday the doctor confirmed it and gave me another round of antibiotics. Please pray that Audrey and I don't get thrush! I'm taking probiotics too, but I'm nervous. Nursing is hard work.

The girls are doing well, no sicknesses for them!

Kristina got Addison this outfit and it's so cute on her! It is size 3T! The waist on the skirt was a little big, but the shirt fit perfectly.

Happy Baby and other things...

Audrey has found both of her feet and she's not letting go! Everywhere she goes she is holding on...in the stroller, on the changing pad, on her play mat, in the tub.

Her other new "trick" is screaming. She used to quietly coo (like an owl as Addison pointed out), but now she prefers to be much, much louder! She does it all day (and night) long and when she is happy, bored, upset.

We are hoping to hear back next week about the house appraisal. Pray that it appraises at or above our offer!

Lou Lou and Legos....Addison LOVES lego duplos!

Pretty girl who loves this dress because it makes her feel like a ballerina. Addison wants to be a ballerina for Halloween too.

Audrey loves to look in the mirror!

Happy 2 1/2 Addison Jane!

Addison Jane is 2 1/2 years old! Last night we celebrated with half a birthday cake. I forgot to take a before picture.

I love my 2 1/2 year old because she...
  • is starting to talk so much more now! As you know, she has always been more of an observer than a talker. But the past month or so she has really started to talk more! She still does her fair share of whining and "humming" words, but each day she is trying new words.
  • loves to hear two bedtime stories. Out bedtime routine is sort of ridiculously drawn out these days. We do a bath, then get dressed, comb hair, brush teeth, read two books, go potty, get in bed and tell two stories. She always wants to hear stories about a big girl, a boy, a baby, a mommy, a daddy, and two dogs. I've been trying to get her to tell me a story now too.
  • likes to count. She can count to three pretty confidently and now tries to get to five.
  • plays doctor. She wants me to be Dr. Mommy and she is always the baby doll's mommy. She takes me to a certain spot in her room and says it's the doctor's room. Then she shows me all the boo boos.
  • insists that she can do things because she's a big girl (like putting her own shoes on).
  • automatically says "a marble" after I tell her she did something nice or good. We have a good job jar that we fill with marbles.
  • likes to pretend that everything is a family. Even her sweet potato fries. The big fries are the daddy, the smaller ones are the big girl and the baby. I don't love that this is preventing her from napping. She pretends that her elephant blankets are a family.
  • still loves to read. She knows her books so well that she can tell me (to a certain extent) what happens in them and the title and author names.

She has a well visit doctor appointment on Thursday.

Labor Day Weekend

We started our weekend early with "Frozen Yogurt Friday". I'm starting a new tradition. This was Addison's first time getting her own bowl of frozen yogurt and picking out toppings. She immediately wanted the rainbow jimmies and strawberries (of course).

Saturday morning Addison and I went swimming while Andrew hung out with Audrey. Addison is getting more and more confident in the pool. She likes to take her swim ring off and hang/scoot on the wall now.

yes, that is drool

In the afternoon we went to look at another home and liked it so much we put in another offer. Today we found out that they went with a cash offer. We are pretty discouraged by the home buying process and are most likely going to just find a place to rent. It's been an emotional day for us because of it, but we still tried to enjoy our weekend.
