10 weeks to go

Only 10 more weeks until Audrey's due date. I've decided that it's time to get ready. I'm starting to get the nesting bug real bad...if only I could share it with Andrew! We have some big purchases to make, like a double stroller, and we have to pay for the delivery by the end of the month too. I need to go through our "storage closet" in Addison's room and get out all the baby items we will need. I also need to officially finish Addison's baby book and update my pregnancy book for Audrey. I could go on and on, my to do list is very long! I'd like to be ready for Audrey by May 1st just in case she comes early like her big sister! Then I can relax a bit and keep the house as clean and organized as a toddler allows! I wish my sister could come and help me! : ) I've also decided to give up on growing out my hair. Saturday was a very humid day and it was just as crazy as usual!

Physically, I am starting to feel a little uncomfortable. I don't have as much energy, my darn leg hurts so bad, and I get heartburn every night! This pregnancy has definitely been harder on my body than the first. Audrey moves around a lot more than Addison did while in my belly... I can't wait to see how similar and different they are!

Any day now I will become an aunt! Come on baby Madilynn!

Go FGCU Eagles!

Birthday Celebration #2!

This weekend Dad and Kim came over to celebrate Addison's 2nd birthday! Saturday she opened her gifts and played with them, we enjoyed lunch outside, we took a ride on her new bike and went to the playground, and we ate dinner and a birthday dessert at home. Sunday we went to Zoo Miami! The park is huge so we rented a 4-seater bike! Addison enjoyed the elephants and giraffes the most. Since there is so much left to see and do we got an annual pass! Thank you grandma and grandpa Barber for a wonderful weekend!

Our camera is broken, so these pictures are a bit blurry. Must get it fixed as soon as possible!

Addison and her boo boos.

Not a day goes by that Addison doesn't get a boo boo. Here is a list of boo boos she got this past week:
  • a paper cut on her thumb while reading her big Curious George book
  • a bruise on each knee (not sure when or how)
  • a bruise on her forehead from falling outside by the playground
  • some little scratches on her nose (not sure when or how)
and
  • a subconjuntival hemorrhage on her left eye. That sounds and looks a whole lot worse than it really is! On Friday she woke up with a big blood spot on her eyeball. The pediatrician checked her cornea and eye movement and confirmed that most likely everything was fine. Today we went to a specialist (who was great with Addison!) and she also confirmed that her eyes were beautiful. She probably just rubbed her eyes too hard and broke a vessel. It is slowly getting better. The doctor dilated her eyes so she wore her new purple sunglasses on the way home!

Is this just a toddler thing? Or am I a bad mom!?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The past two months now, Andrew has been pretty busy with work. We were happy to have Saturday morning to spend together uninterrupted. When Andrew is home, Addison craves his attention. She wants him to do everything with her. Sunday we weren't so lucky, Andrew billed 17 hours! We did miss the green Chicago River this year. We took Addison to see it both years. One day she will see it again!

Addison worked on this rainbow all week...her favorite part of the project were the cotton balls!

Addison and her dogs. She truly loves them. I have to remind myself this when they make life difficult!

It's impossible to take a posed picture of her nowadays! I love her mint green dress from Grammy and Poppy!

The past week she has been into Elmo.

Happy Birthday to my cousin Parker!

Baby Audrey's 28 week ultrasound

Today we went to Audrey's 28 week ultrasound and her growth is right on track. She is measuring exactly at 28 weeks 2 days, 50th percentile! Her head is down and resting right on top of my bladder!

Here is a profile picture that also shows how flexible she is...she is holding her foot right above her head:

Our next ultrasound will be at 34 weeks. It is so good to see that there are no complications due to my two vessel cord!

On a sad note, I hit a pole in our parking garage today. Mostly sad because I know how much Andrew loves his car!

Two year stats

Addison had her 2 year well visit today. She weighs 25 pounds and is 33 inches tall! Both are just below average. She was such a brave little girl as she got her blood test and TB test! No tears at all. I really liked the office and the doctor. This is our first visit to a pediatrician since Chicago. Her doctor and nurse both said she was the best two year old patient they've had in a long time! She was so calm and relaxed during her exam. I wonder if it has helped her to see me at my doctor's office getting shots and examined. She also really enjoys playing with her nurse/doctors kit from Nana and Papa!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Addison Jane!

I can't believe my baby is two today. I've actually been trying to call her "my big girl" and not "my baby" lately, but it's hard! We had to cancel her beach party because of a cold front...it is currently in the 50's in Miami! We still had a little party at our house for her and she enjoyed the day very much (I will post pictures soon). Her two year doctor appointment is on Wednesday.

I love ...
  • that her favorite color is blue. Every time she sees blue she points it out and gets so excited.
  • how she collects leaves when we go on a walk! Recently we found a heart shaped leaf and she treasures it.
  • her excitement about letters. I've been teaching her the letters in her name and when she sees them in a book or something she points them out!
  • when she shushes the dogs when they bark at the door. I wonder if she will shush the baby when she cries.
  • how brave she is becoming in her gymboree class. She is the first to try each activity now, minus the dancing!
  • that she insists on wearing my shoes when we take the trash to the chute in the hallway. She looks so cute in them! I usually wear Andrew's flip flops.
  • how she says "dooo dooo" instead of "choo choo". Grammy and Poppy got her a new train set for her birthday!
  • when she kisses my legs when they hurt (pregnancy legs!).
  • her bed head after a nap, especially when it was braided or in pig tails!
  • our little field trips together. It's so fun to do a non errand type of outing with her like to the Seaquarium or Jungle Island.
  • our Friday tradition. After her gymboree glass we go to the coffee shop to share a muffin and watch the little birds eat our crumbs!
  • watching her play with her grandparents and uncles. She adores all of them and we are so thankful that she has the opportunity to get to know them.
