Evening walks

For the past two weeks Andrew, Addi, and I have been taking an evening walk after we eat dinner.  We go someplace where it's safe for to let Addison walk around too.  I'm really enjoying it.  Recently we have had some days when it has been in the 90s here, so it's nice to get out when it starts to cool off.

Come on, cuspids!

My poor baby and her cuspids.  Who knew the sharpest teeth could cause the most pain.  The past few days she has had both hands in her mouth with drool running down her arms.  She is also pretty much in a constant whine if not crying.  She is ultra sensitive, napping poorly, eating poorly, and has had crazy poops (tmi, I know!).  I want my Addi back!  Glad she likes frozen berries.

Something to make Nana and Papa proud: Addi knows what "sunscreen" means.  I said to Drew in preparation to going to the park, "need to change her diaper, put sunscreen on, and shoes and socks on".  Then Addi walked to the diaper bag and brought the tube of sunscreen to us. Later Drew said, "she smells like sunscreen," and again she went to the door, dug through the diaper bag, and brought the sunscreen to him.

update

Although we are excited to get down to Miami and start a new phase of life, there are many things we will miss about Chicago.  One is our veterinarian, Dr. Pass.   We love her!  She comes to our home to examine and treat our dogs, which is probably why we have gotten to know her more than our past vet in Florida.  She cares about our doggies as if they are her own.  Stella got real sick a few days ago and Dr. Pass walked us through it over the phone and in person, and now we think she is starting to get better.  Poor Stella.

Andrew has been working hard on getting ahead in his bar course so that he can have time to review before the next practice exam.  He has also made time for exercise and has lost 10 pounds over the past two months.  He has been watching the Heat games on the treadmill!  As you all know, Drew is full of good ideas and has many goals, too many ideas and goals!  But when he really makes the decision to accomplish one he does and does it well.

I've been taking an anti-inflammatory twice a day for my thumb injury and I'm still wearing the darn braces.  I go back to the doctor July 2nd.  The medicine makes me so tired, but I think it's starting to get better.

And Addison is just busy being cute.
Here she is on our river walk the other day:

15 month old stats

Saw the doctor today for Addison's 15 month well visit.  She is 19 pounds (5-10th%) and 30 inches long (40th%).  She had two shots and did not cry at all, whew.  We will see her doctor one more time right before we move to Miami for her 18 month well visit.

15 months old!

Happy 15 months old to Addison Jane!

We go to the doctor on the 6th for her well visit check up, so I will post her official weight/height then.

Addison's favorites at 15 months:

Books: Good Night Gorilla, especially the page that is all black with just eyes (we gasp together on that page!), and Curious George Rides, especially the page about riding balloons.
Food: Avocado, she devours it.  Although she loves all food really!  She now can sign for "more" and "please".
Toys: her baby doll, balls (she is getting pretty good at throwing!), her car and push cart.
Activities: trying to put her own shoes on (she wants to wear shoes all the time now, bubbles at the park, play dough (although she has tried to eat some and gagged), sitting in her chair and looking through her books.
Color: orange. She usually goes for the orange crayon first, strange.

Some other new interests:
  • everything to do with zippers
  • pointing at what she wants with a babble
  • sitting in my lap
  • floss (she LOVES it!)
  • ducks, fish, and balloons
  • dipping food (in soup, sour cream, etc.)

Pool Time

The weather has been warm and the pool in our building is finally warm enough to play in!  Today she went in with Daddy!
